Job Summary

As a Phlebotomy Specialist at Alverno Laboratories, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, performing laboratory office duties, and processing laboratory specimens. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Perform laboratory office duties, including registering patients, entering data into the computer system, and processing paperwork.
• Process laboratory specimens, including preparation for testing and/or sending to the central laboratory or reference laboratory.
• Perform limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
• Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• May be required to travel/drive to other locations.
