About the Facility
The Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC) is a distinguished medical facility recognized by the Joint Commission, situated on 26 acres in Decatur, Georgia. This level 1A tertiary care center is dedicated to providing patient-centered healthcare through a wide range of medical, surgical, and specialty services. With 466 inpatient beds, including specialized units, the Atlanta VAMC serves over 130,000 enrolled Veterans across northeast Georgia.

Position Overview: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine procedures including the insertion of peripheral lines and collection of blood samples.
  • Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and respond to cardiac emergencies with appropriate interventions.
  • Assist in the setup and monitoring of advanced cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impella heart pumps.
  • Maintain responsibility for providing coverage to the dialysis center and may work with patients under special health considerations.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited course in Intensive Care/Cath Lab Nursing and certification in Moderate Sedation or equivalent.
  • A current nursing license in at least one U.S. state or territory.
  • A minimum of three years of direct patient care experience, preferably in critical care settings.
  • Preferred certification in Acute/Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
