Overview

A key role exists within the Waymo Operations team to lead and coordinate emergency response efforts, ensuring timely and effective support for individuals in distress. This onsite position will be based in Phoenix, AZ.

This individual will report directly to the Head of Event Response and work closely with teams to manage escalations, provide guidance, and contribute to technical decision-making processes. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in operating communication systems necessary for accessing and updating information quickly.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in program management, operations, strategy, and planning. A demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive customer interactions during high-stress situations is essential, along with proficiency in data analysis and presentation.

Availability for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required to ensure 24/7 coverage in the dispatch center. Certification in Emergency Telecommunications or related field is preferred. Additionally, familiarity with dispatching software and emergency response protocols is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage escalations safely until help arrives and monitor emergency responder locations and status.
  • Contribute and consult on technical decisions by analyzing trade-offs, understanding risks, and Return on investment.
  • Lead the retrospective and rca process, including executive presentations, documentation and quality assurance.
  • Lead and coordinate process improvement programs, tooling deployments and coordinate releases.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 USD per year.
