Waterbury Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care by performing selected tasks and activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Participate in the development of patient care plans and contribute to the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide a safe and healthy environment for patients.
- Document nursing interventions and responses to care, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Perform patient-related activities, medication administration, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic treatments under the direction of the Provider.
- Triage phone calls and follow up with post-operative patients.
- Support and participate in quality initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain accountability for professional competency and demonstrate knowledge and critical thinking to promote optimal patient care.
- State of CT LPN License.
- Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR certification.
- CPI certification.
- Ability to read and write English with a command of verbal English.
- Ability to work well and collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures.
- Ability to work in a time-oriented environment and perform automated functions.
- Ability to meet the care needs of the patient populations served.
