Objective:
The primary goal is to assess and train residents in essential daily living and social skills, facilitating their journey towards achieving and sustaining their highest level of independence and community integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and provide training to residents in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, budgeting, socialization, and recreational activities.
- Implement both group and individual programs that foster growth and development towards independent living.
- Assist residents in organizing their daily schedules, incorporating household tasks, social engagements, and appointments.
- Complete and manage all required documentation, including daily progress reports and incident reports, within designated timelines.
- Ensure the living environment is safe, clean, and healthy, performing necessary cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Monitor residents to ensure their well-being and safety.
- Supervise residents' schedules and activities to guarantee timely participation in programs and appointments.
- Assist residents with medication management in accordance with established guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Support the planning and supervision of recreational and social activities.
- Assist with meal preparation and accommodate residents with special dietary needs.
- Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Report any medical or behavioral concerns to the appropriate personnel immediately.
- Complete training on the Skills System and apply it effectively with all residents.
- Successfully complete Safety Care training, demonstrating the physical capability to perform all required interventions.
Additional Duties:
- Transport residents to appointments and services as necessary.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure residents are present and safe.
- Secure all entry points to maintain building safety.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of college education or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Completion of a 40-hour training program provided by BCBA staff and successful passing of the RBT Competency Assessment within 90 days of training.
- Proof of Direct Service Professional (DSP) training and successful completion of the TABE test prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to operate agency vehicles.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require standing, walking, sitting, seeing, hearing, and clear communication. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical intervention techniques as necessary.
