Job Summary

The Bethel Child Development Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum that aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example, modeling and coaching teaching team members to ensure a cohesive and effective educational approach.
  • Plan and execute individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in our students.
  • Maintain open and frequent communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met, maintaining a healthy and safe classroom environment.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, as well as a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development, including infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
  • Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
