This position involves repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment, as well as installing new equipment and maintaining established preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will be a skilled journeyman in Machine Repair, Plant Mechanic, or Millwright, with proficiency in reading mechanical/electrical prints, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
Responsibilities- Perform changeovers, answer line calls, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Apply basic electrical skills and repair high-speed production equipment.
- Practice safe work habits and follow proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Respond to calls from line supervisors or operators to repair equipment as needed.
- Schedule preventative maintenance on equipment and participate in daily meetings to report maintenance department objectives and opportunities.
- Install and rebuild equipment, troubleshoot pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems, and develop preventative maintenance needs and requirements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems in a timely manner and take the lead in resolving technical, unusual, or complex problems.
- Interact with the public and other employees in a positive manner and promote a cooperative working environment.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands on time frames.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a related field with proven industry experience, beverage experience a plus.
- Ability to read schematics and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of OSHA laws and ability to implement all OSHA required training for the department.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, with bilingual Spanish skills strongly preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts and a flexible full-time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports, and other documents, as well as respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this job include walking, standing for long periods, sitting, talking, and hearing. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and may be required to push or pull with a dolly or pallet jack up to 500 pounds.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment will involve exposure to various unfamiliar conditions, including manufacturing and warehouse plants, and other venues as directed by the supervisor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.
