Classroom Teacher Classification 2
Teachers at this level play a pivotal role in enhancing student performance and educational outcomes as outlined in the school’s strategic objectives. They contribute to the formulation and execution of school policies and priorities.

A key aspect of this role involves expanding the knowledge base of fellow staff regarding student learning and high-quality instructional practices, assisting the school in defining exemplary teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Possessing the necessary content knowledge and pedagogical skills to cater to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Demonstrating exemplary teaching practices and mentoring colleagues to engage in reflective teaching.
  • Providing expert guidance on content, processes, and strategies that will shape professional learning for individuals and the school.
  • Supervising and training student teachers.
  • Assisting staff in utilizing student data to inform instructional strategies aimed at achieving targeted learning outcomes.

Classroom Teacher Classification 1
The focus for teachers at this level is on developing their skills and competencies to become effective educators, supported by experienced colleagues. These teachers are responsible for delivering educational programs to a variety of student groups and are accountable for their effectiveness.

Teachers in this classification participate in the development of school policies and programs, contributing to the implementation of institutional priorities. Their focus includes classroom management, subject matter expertise, and teaching methodologies.

Under guidance, new educators will plan and instruct student groups across various subjects and are expected to engage in professional development activities that integrate curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy.

Teachers at this level are responsible for their own classes and may also engage in policy development and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Visual Arts Teacher may include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct instruction of individual and group students.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum programs.
  • Carrying out additional teaching-related and organizational duties as assigned by the Principal.
  • Participating in school activities such as meetings and excursions.
  • Performing non-teaching supervisory responsibilities.
