Job Overview:

A skilled Baker at Crow's Nest is responsible for crafting high-quality bread using premium ingredients. This role involves not only serving the cafe's customers but also supplying bread to the Crow's Nest. Each baker is expected to consistently replicate our recipes to meet customer expectations. The expertise of our bakers is relied upon to assist in developing new products for our offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mixing, kneading, and preparing a variety of baked goods
  • Completing daily inventory counts on bread needs
  • Ensuring that all items baked during your shift meet the bakery's standards
  • Cleaning and putting away all items used while working each day
  • Measuring and weighing ingredients accurately
  • Communicating any ingredient needs to ensure the bakery is adequately supplied
  • Arranging bread on display for sale in the cafe
Requirements:
  • Ability to accurately follow weights, measurements, and cook times for recipes
  • Knowledge in how to safely operate food service equipment such as a stand mixer, oven, and bread slicer
  • Experience in kneading and shaping dough by hand
  • Strong communication skills with a willingness to communicate amongst a team
  • Knowledge in proper food handling guidelines
  • Maintaining a positive attitude
