Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine building maintenance, performing fabrication and repair of accessory templates, and performing preventative scheduled maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine building maintenance, including minor electrical, plumbing, and minor air system repairs
- Perform fabrication and repair of accessory templates as needed
- Perform preventative scheduled maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment, including inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, greasing bearings, seals, repairing or replacing broken parts
- Construct projects utilizing standard building practices, including framing, finish carpentry, sheetrock, and painting
- Design, layout, and build metal projects utilizing welding and other metal fabrication methods
- Install new equipment, troubleshoot problems with existing equipment, and perform repairs
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl in tight spaces
- Will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places
Requirements:
- Current/Valid TWIC Badge required
- Reliable work history, good attendance, positive attitude, and safety record
- Demonstrated ability to carry out specified work procedures, follow directions, and work independently without supervision
- Clear oral and written communication skills
- Welding experience (MIG & stick)
- Wood, metal, and other fabricating experience with proficiency in the safe use of all hand and power tools
- Ability to drive vehicles with a manual transmission
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical and HVAC certification, or in-depth electrical knowledge and background
