Position Overview

The Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant delivers direct rehabilitative care in occupational therapy to patients under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be NBCOT certified upon employment
  • Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Current registration/licensure in the respective state
  • Preferred one year of experience in post-acute care settings
  • CPR certification is mandatory

Key Responsibilities

  • Engages in community health initiatives
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
  • Collaborates effectively with patients, families, and support teams
  • Exhibits proper body mechanics
  • Makes independent decisions when required
  • Implements and interprets departmental protocols

Core Functions

  • Adheres to treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Accurately documents patient progress
  • Utilizes therapy software efficiently
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Assists in patient evacuation procedures
  • Maintains regular attendance
  • Contributes productively within a team environment
  • Performs physical tasks as necessary
