Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team. This role entails providing engineering leadership and support for high-speed automated assembly operations. The engineer will be responsible for the support, design, development, and testing of automated processes, systems, and equipment. Key responsibilities include initiating and executing projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing productivity, improving equipment uptime, and implementing cost-saving measures.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage and complete process engineering projects within critical timelines to meet strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement projects that automate processes, enhance quality, reduce operational costs, increase yield, and minimize downtime.
  • Design new high-speed machinery and equipment to meet in-house production and engineering needs.
  • Source, evaluate, qualify, test, and install purchased equipment.
  • Modify and integrate existing equipment to optimize processes in alignment with business requirements.
  • Introduce innovative assembly technologies into the manufacturing workflow.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to the technician team.
  • Identify, design, and implement new technological solutions.
  • Support manufacturing operations across all shifts by troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. Degrees in other engineering disciplines may also be considered.

Experience:

  • 5-15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in high-speed assembly environments.
  • Significant automation manufacturing experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, including S5 and S7 logic.
  • Experience with robotics is advantageous.
  • Skills in tool room operations and machine building are preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in 3D CAD software.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems in manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, DOE, and Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong project management capabilities with experience leading technical teams.
  • Effective needs analysis skills, with a history of addressing issues and meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous skill development through training opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Punctual and disciplined, serving as a role model for others.
  • Open-minded and receptive to new ideas and innovations.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
