Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Apprentice Engineer II, Commercial Office to join our team at Douglas Emmett. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems and equipment at our assigned buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and repair all mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems and devices in the building, as approved by the Chief Engineer.
  • Monitor installation and implementation of energy-related projects, systems, and devices.
  • Maintain operating manuals and technical data, and accurate written records of all maintenance services, preventive maintenance, equipment inventory, general supply, and parts inventory.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
  • Read and comprehend trade-related blueprints, line diagrams, and schematics.
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, locksmith, and exterior site work as required and assigned.
  • Maintain contact with building occupants to solve operational problems.
