Job Title: Principal Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure solutions using cloud-native services.
  • Provide technical guidance and architecture expertise to accelerate infrastructure as code practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Review architectural diagrams to ensure alignment with best practices, infrastructure requirements, and business needs.
  • Partner with business teams to define technical requirements for modernizing legacy applications and systems.
  • Design, code, and deploy infrastructure within an AWS environment, developing CI/CD pipelines and instrumenting code for metrics.
  • Implement and manage cloud security practices, including IAM roles, security groups, encryption, and compliance.
  • Serve as a senior technical expert on cloud-deployed products and infrastructure, collaborating with architecture and application teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for scalability and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience; Master's degree with 7+ years of experience; PhD with 3 years of experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud services in a large-scale multi-cloud hosting environment, such as AWS and Azure.
  • Deep expertise in AWS cloud services, including EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, RDS, Identity Center, Secure Landing Zone, and Control Tower.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools, such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CDK.
  • Advanced capabilities in automation tools, including Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and PowerShell.
  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing resilient CI/CD pipelines at an enterprise level.
  • Expertise in security tools, including AWS Security Hub, AWS GuardDuty, and comprehensive cloud security practices.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including VPC, subnetting, VPN, Direct Connect, and routing.
  • Comprehensive experience with cloud monitoring and management tools, including AWS CloudWatch and third-party solutions.
  • Substantial experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python and Bash, for automation and security tasks.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools, such as Chef and Puppet.
  • Proficiency in logging and monitoring tools, such as ELK Stack and Prometheus.
  • Understanding of identity and access management solutions, particularly AWS IAM.
Preferred Skills:
  • Configuration management: extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with configuration management tools, such as Chef and Puppet.
  • Logging and monitoring: proven expertise in utilizing advanced logging and monitoring tools, such as Splunk and SolarWinds.
  • Identity and access management: in-depth understanding and practical experience with identity and access management solutions, particularly AWS IAM.
  • DevOps best practices: a thorough grasp of DevOps principles and practices, emphasizing automation, continuous improvement, and collaborative development.
  • Compliance and governance: solid understanding of cloud compliance and governance frameworks and regulations.
  • Cost management: demonstrated experience with AWS cost management and optimization strategies.
