Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at ETSU Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic imaging and ultrasound technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease.
  • Obtain diagnostic sonographic images by scanning the appropriate body part of the patient.
  • Position patients for the proper view of the affected area.
  • Select the appropriate scan images to be recorded on film.
  • Instruct patients on the proper physiological requirements for the procedure.
  • Provide adequate patient immobilization to perform the scan.
  • Submit diagnostic ultrasound exams to the physician for interpretation.
  • Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures.
  • Operate portable sonographic equipment.
  • Correlate pathological findings with sonogram results.
  • Assist in performing life-saving techniques, such as first aid and CPR.
  • Practice sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Remain current in the field through ongoing education and training.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography.
  • RDMS certification.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in diagnostic imaging, preferably as an ultrasound technologist.
  • Driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Knowledge of health insurance procedures used to obtain pre-authorizations and referrals.
