Job Description

At Special Explorers Center, we are seeking a skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing effective treatment plans in an individual or group setting, working closely with consumers to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized behavioral plans
  • Collaborate with consumers to address their goals and objectives
  • Collect and analyze data to inform treatment decisions
  • Maintain accurate records and consumer binders
  • Ensure a safe and organized environment for consumers
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for consumers with peers
  • Transport consumers to and from the facility as needed
  • Work with consumers who exhibit challenging behavior, including aggression, self-injury, and self-stimulation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working with Applied Behavior Analyst Therapy
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of counseling or social work principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for long periods
