Job Summary

This position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Physician to join the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration team. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our nation's veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and record history and physical examinations, and record data from clinic visits.
  • Evaluate, consult, develop diagnosis, and manage the primary care panel of patients assigned.
  • Enter progress notes in computerized medical record and complete workload documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions and all appropriate preventive care for both male and female veterans.
  • Order diagnostic tests, medications, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient.
  • Provide timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts.
  • Determine medical assessment and develop treatment plans according to accepted protocols.
  • Prescribe medications according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and State Law.
  • Educate patients concerning medical conditions and recommended treatments.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience

Comprehensive background in Women's Health preferred.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (On-Call once per week; the day of the week will be negotiated and remain the same)
