Position Overview:
As an Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues within various applications, collaborating with application providers when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary expert for a range of applications, assisting end-users with troubleshooting in business-related software.
  • Oversee all aspects of application implementation and maintenance, ensuring user engagement and satisfaction.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for recordkeeping, change management, and configuration updates.
Facilitate effective project management for software implementations and upgrades while providing continuous support to end-users.

Testing and Support:
  • Conduct application testing in a controlled environment with end-users as needed.
Provide on-call support as directed by management.

Documentation and Maintenance:
  • Update and maintain technical manuals and user procedures.
Test solutions and follow up post-resolution to ensure that issues are fully addressed in relation to business applications.
Engage in preventative maintenance activities, including the installation of updates, patches, and service packs for applications.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an application support role, focusing on ERP applications related to accounting, inventory, and pricing, ideally within the retail sector. A total of five years in IT is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, mathematics, or a related field is required.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain standard operating procedures and document application support workflows.
Familiarity with the PDI Enterprise application suite is advantageous.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing changing priorities.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and a general programming background is beneficial.
Proficient in writing and modifying SQL queries and monitoring Windows events for desktop and server operating systems.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, collaboratively within a team, and under supervision.
Willingness to learn new skills as necessary.
