California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients in correctional health care settings.

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Technician will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients, provide support to the care team for daily health care operations, and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Support the care team for daily health care operations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.
  • Address the ongoing needs of patients and work with the members of the larger health care team to promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE.
  • Ability to work in a correctional health care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
