Oncology Charge Nurse

Position Overview

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Oncology Charge Nurse will oversee unit operations and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care within the oncology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage staffing assignments and provide leadership to nursing and support staff during shifts.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and offer guidance to enhance staff development.
  • Assess patient care requirements daily and allocate assignments to ensure optimal care delivery.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of patient care and address any issues impacting patient outcomes.
  • Handle patient care complaints through established protocols.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation processes for nursing staff.

Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Current BLS certification required within the first month of employment.
  • Registered Nurse license from the appropriate state board required prior to employment.

Education:
  • Must possess relevant licensure and at least one year of experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oncology nursing is highly desirable.
  • Previous leadership or charge nurse experience is preferred.
  • Certification in chemotherapy administration is a plus.
