Job Summary

As a Bulk Grease Driver at Baker Commodities, you will be responsible for the safe and timely operation of commercial vehicles and equipment to collect, transport, and deliver company products. This role will play a critical part in meeting our customers' needs for safe and environmentally responsible used cooking oil removal and disposal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicle mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions and routes
  • Drive assigned vehicles on designated routes, following safety procedures for transporting goods
  • Maintain logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status, adhering to state and federal regulations
  • Record information on weight, volume, mileage, time, and fuel consumption
  • Operate equipment such as GPS navigation and radio/phone for communication with supervisors and other points of contact
  • Plan and adjust routes for maximum fuel efficiency using navigation equipment
  • Load and unload trucks using specialized equipment as necessary
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner, following department and company procedures
  • Attend to regular attendance and punctuality, essential for the smooth operation of the company
Requirements
  • Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card
  • Must be 21 or older to comply with Federal regulations
  • Endorsements for tanker and doubles based on vehicle assigned
  • 2 years of commercial vehicle driving experience with an acceptable MVR
  • Ability to complete the Entry Level Driver program if less than 2 years of commercial vehicle driving experience with an acceptable MVR
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Department
  • Understanding and adherence to all DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of transportation and safety principles for moving goods by road
  • Ability to operate, control, and monitor vehicles and equipment
  • Ability to work overtime and alternate schedules/routes as needed
Physical Demands

This role requires constant sitting while operating the vehicle, observing and monitoring equipment, and ascending/descending in and out of the vehicle and on equipment. It also involves frequent communication with coworkers, customers, and supervisors, as well as moving, lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment and material up to 60 pounds. Occasionally, the role may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, materials requiring personal protective equipment, and moving across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces.
