The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an 18-bed transitional unit from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that focuses on patients requiring specialized care in trauma, emergency dialysis, cardiac issues, strokes, and ventilator support.

3:1 to 4:1

Facility Overview:
Forbes Hospital is a 315-bed, Level II trauma facility situated in a community setting.
Our hospital provides a comprehensive range of services akin to those found in urban hospitals, including trauma care, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, obstetrics, and psychiatric services, while nurturing relationships within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individuals or families under their care.
As a licensed nurse, the Registered Nurse is accountable for the quality of care provided to patients.
Essential duties include:
1. Providing leadership within a professional practice environment.
2. Collaborating as a team player to enhance team success through mentoring and support.
3. Assigning or delegating tasks based on patient needs and the skill levels of nursing staff.
4. Ensuring a safe environment by considering patient conditions and the complexity of interventions.
5. Offering constructive feedback to peers regarding clinical practices.
6. Sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues.
7. Participating in interdisciplinary teams to assess clinical care and health services.
Patient Safety and Quality Initiatives:
Engaging in patient safety initiatives, including adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
Participating in department-specific quality improvement initiatives and ensuring appropriate order sets are utilized.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Completion of an accredited RN training program and possession of a valid RN license.
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred:
- Certification in a relevant specialty area.
