  • Business Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of new and existing business opportunities to determine acceptability, degree of risk, loss history, and other underwriting information.
  • Underwriting Decisions: Make informed underwriting decisions in line with organizational procedures, binding limitations, reinsurance restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of underwriters and analysts to ensure efficient and consistent application of underwriting guidelines.
  • Process Improvement: Document and oversee procedures to increase efficiency and consistency in application of underwriting guidelines.
  • Complex Account Management: Handle complex accounts and resolve coverage questions, claim reports, errors & omissions, and consumer complaints.
  • Communication: Share underwriting decisions with sales staff, insureds & applicants, and communicate with cross-functional departments.
  • Relationship Building: Foster both internal and external business relationships to drive growth and success.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 5+ years of underwriting experience, with management experience preferred
  • Certifications: CPCU designation preferred
  • Skills: Ability to work independently and within a team, train and mentor junior team members, and possess a valid driver's license and driving record.
