Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse License issued by the Department of Health Professions, Commonwealth of Virginia OR Registered Nurse with “multi-state privilege” granted to them by virtue of holding a license in one of the states participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact Agreement and who has not established permanent residency in Virginia is required.
  • BSN or enrollment in BSN program required within first two years of employment and completion of BSN within five years of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Two years Registered Nurse experience is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management within the specialty is required.
  • Two years’ experience as RN in a Charge Nurse role within the area of specialty is preferred.
