Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Social Worker is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing direct assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for members and their families. This role requires a deep understanding of psychopathology and the ability to recognize timely clinical treatment interventions. The successful candidate will work with specific age groups, as determined by their training and certification, and will be familiar with a variety of treatment modalities.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct timely and accurate assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for members.
  • Select and implement appropriate treatment modalities to address member needs.
  • Communicate effectively with members and clinical staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Provide high-quality customer satisfaction and maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date with current DSM nomenclature and KP guidelines.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of KP and community resources.
  • Adhere to all mandated guidelines for patient care and licensure.
  • Maintain licensure and certification.
  • Conduct initial interviews with members to gather and interpret psychological and social information.
  • Determine the urgency of member needs and provide timely guidance and therapy.
  • Provide treatment to adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Render immediate guidance and therapy for members in crisis or need of clinical services.
  • Maintain written records of therapy and prepare reports and letters.
  • Provide clinical consultation in an integrated healthcare environment.
  • Offer telephone assessment, counseling, resource information, and referrals.
  • Identify and treat developmental stages across the lifespan.
  • Utilize various treatment modalities, including individual, group, family, and child therapy.
  • Comply with organizational, departmental, state, and federal guidelines and policies.
  • Participate in quality management and continuous quality improvement activities.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Two years of post-graduate mental health therapy experience within the last five years.
Education:
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
License, Certification, Registration:
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California).
  • National Provider Identifier.
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature.
  • Consistently demonstrate knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to members, colleagues, and customers.
