About the Role

As an adjunct Manufacturing Technology instructor at InsideHigherEd, the successful candidate will teach courses in Precision Machining, focusing heavily on hand tools and manual machining. Teaching in both the classroom and laboratory settings, the successful candidate will use a combination of hands-on demonstrations along with classroom/online lectures to teach students machine tool theory and safety as well as a variety of technical assignments and laboratory instruction that will prepare the students to enter today's manufacturing workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures and hands-on demonstrations in Precision Machining courses
  • Design and implement technical assignments and laboratory instruction to prepare students for the manufacturing workforce
  • Use a combination of classroom and online lectures to teach machine tool theory and safety
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience teaching in a manufacturing or technical field
  • Strong knowledge of machine tool theory and safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
