Access Team Interim Care Clinician

Family Service and Guidance Center of To is seeking a skilled Access Team Interim Care Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals and families in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, including initial risk screening with individuals/families.
- Actively engage and partner with individuals/families in treatment planning.
- Achieve and assign diagnoses, in accordance with the DSM-5-TR.
- Identify individuals/families with urgent needs and engage them through their preferred format and location, including in-person or via telehealth, on or potentially off site.
- Meet acute therapeutic needs through interim care provision.
- Ensure a warm hand off of referrals within the agency or to other partner agencies in the community.
- Actively work with agency clinical teams (outpatient, psychiatry, crisis, substance use/co-occurring disorder treatment, community based and school/outreach services) to facilitate referrals and triage cases.
- Support and actively promote the vision and mission of Family Service and Guidance Center of To.
- Serve as an ambassador of Family Service and Guidance Center of To in the community setting and public events.
- Vigilantly protect and maintain client confidentiality.
- Promote internal and external customer service to clients, families and other staff/departments.
- Maintain agency quality improvement and corporate compliance while complying with documentation guidelines and ensure services are consistently performed to clinical standards.
- Provide clinical mentorship and supervision.
- Promote and model self-care strategies to maintain personal health.
- Maintain positive working relationships with community referral sources such as school personnel, juvenile justice, other mental health providers or agencies.
- Assist the Director of Clinical Operations in monitoring qualitative and quantitative data with recommendations to promote efficiencies and effectiveness of access to services provided to individuals/families.
Requirements:
- Must meet criteria to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
- Master's degree in a recognized mental health discipline.
- Valid license to practice in the state of Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
- Must successfully pass the KBI and DCF Central Registry and all other background investigations.
- Must successfully complete required training including MAB (Managing Aggressive Behavior), CPR and First Aid, AMSR (Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk) within the first six months of employment or as the trainings are available.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, a good driving record, current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
- Active membership in professional organizations strongly encouraged.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and families preferred.
- Passion and desire to work with children and adolescents.
- Extensive knowledge of child development, evidence-based therapeutic interventions and related theories as well as experience in risk assessment, triage suicide prevention and interventions.

Other Physical Requirements:
Clinicians must have sufficient ambulatory capabilities to work with children, adolescents and adults in the office setting. Position may require the ability to use physical holding (MAB) with children, adolescents and adults exhibiting out of control behaviors.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Office and Community-Based working environment; requires flexible schedule; frequent interruptions occur; expected to deal with individuals in crisis, potential risk of exposure to aggressive and/or acting out (verbal and physical) children, youth and adults, and exposure to low socioeconomic homes and neighborhoods.
Position requires long periods of sitting, continual use of the keyboard/personal computer, interacting with others via speaking on the telephone. Position may require the provision of services in an office, client home, school or other community setting.
