Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team at Bayport Laboratories LLC, a fast-growing cosmetic contract manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our company's procurement process, ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of goods and services.

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and optimize our purchasing activities, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers while obtaining the best quality products at the most favorable prices. This includes conducting thorough market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, pricing, and reliability.

A key aspect of this role is collaboration with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements. You will prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information, negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.

In addition, you will monitor inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock availability while avoiding overstock situations. Tracking and expediting orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, is also an essential part of this position.

Evaluating supplier performance, addressing any quality or delivery issues promptly, is critical to ensuring that our operations run smoothly. You will maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts, and analyze purchasing data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and 5 years experience in purchasing, preferably in COSMETICS or FOOD. Strong negotiation and contract management skills are essential, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
