Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at VCA Animal Hospitals. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinary team in delivering high-quality medical services.

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Conduct physical examinations and patient assessments, and assist with surgical preparation and assisting.
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients, including laboratory work, pharmacy, and patient recovery.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of computer systems and software used in the hospital.
• Provide excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with reception and kennel duties as needed.

• Previous experience in an animal hospital or veterinary clinic is a plus.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of software applications.
