Job Title: Front End Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Front End Driver to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a Front End Driver, you will be responsible for operating a front-end truck to collect and transport waste and recyclables to designated facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete a vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.
  • Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests.
  • Keep the truck and surrounding area clean and safe by cleaning loose trash and debris.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Monitor operations to detect loose debris and visually scan customer sites before and after dumping.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
  • Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rainy/stormy weather conditions, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Work in outdoor environments up to 100% of the time.
  • Occasionally work in high-pitched places.
  • Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions constantly.
