RAND is seeking a highly skilled Defense Policy Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our policy analysis team, you will provide expert analysis and recommendations on defense and security policy issues to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth analysis of defense and security policy issues, including strategy, doctrine, operations, and systems.
- Develop and maintain expertise in defense and security policy areas, including military strategy, homeland security, and disaster preparedness.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyze complex policy problems and develop effective solutions.
- Communicate complex policy analysis and recommendations to decision-makers through clear and concise writing and presentations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in defense and security policy, including emerging trends and technologies.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as political science, international studies, strategic studies, or public policy.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in defense or security policy planning and analysis, preferably with the US government.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to RAND's core values of quality and objectivity.
- Active Secret or interim Secret clearance.
- Experience with policy analysis software and tools.
- Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex policy analysis to non-technical audiences.
- Competitive salary range: $52,000 - $143,900.
