Position Summary: The Machine Operator will be responsible for the safe initiation, configuration, and operation of thermoplastic extrusion machinery. This role is essential in ensuring that production meets the specified customer requirements and standards.

Work Schedule: This position operates on the Day Shift, with hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including rotating weekends. The operator will report directly to the ThermoDrive Manufacturing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, configure, and operate machinery that extrudes thermoplastics according to work orders.
  • Load raw materials into the extruder and adjust feeding mechanisms to achieve optimal feed rates.
  • Monitor machine operations, control panels, and gauges to identify any defects or malfunctions.
  • Stop the machine as necessary when production is complete or when issues arise.
  • Accurately complete work orders and production documentation.
  • Maintain a high level of alertness while operating machinery to ensure safety.
  • Participate in training for various roles on the production floor to gain a comprehensive understanding of processes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a machine operator, preferably in a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating tow motors.
  • Ability to read and interpret measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand technical specifications.
  • Manual dexterity and proficiency in using hand tools for machine setup and operation.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry weights exceeding 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
