Job Summary
Universal Health Services is seeking an Activity Therapist to join our inpatient psychiatric units. As an Activity Therapist, you will provide highly individualized care to a very acute patient population.
Responsibilities
- Run assigned treatment groups to meet the needs of various functioning levels and/or diagnostic categories.
- Utilize interviewing techniques, observations, and formal and informal screening/evaluation tools to assess the functional level of patients.
- Identify patients' assets and problem areas, and collaborate with patients in goal-setting.
- Recommend appropriate activities for goal attainment and assist patients in selecting appropriate groups and activities.
- Complete daily notes for each group.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a human services-related field is required. Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or other expressive therapy specialties are preferred.
- LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT licensure is preferred.
- One year of prior inpatient clinical experience is preferred, as well as six months of prior experience as a group leader.
