The role involves delivering nursing care and offering guidance on clinical matters, working closely with physicians at the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure effective operations and high-quality care for pediatric patients, emphasizing exceptional customer service.
2. Mentors and trains new staff members, fostering a supportive learning environment.
3. Conducts patient assessments as necessary.
4. Engages in educational initiatives for staff regarding clinical practices.
5. Evaluates clinical competencies and contributes to the performance review process for nursing staff at designated intervals.
6. Advocates for the health and well-being of pediatric patients and maintains a positive public image in all interactions.
7. Demonstrates the requisite knowledge and skills to address the diverse needs of patients across various age groups.
8. Facilitates consultations and assists with discharge planning in accordance with established protocols.
9. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Technical Skills:
1. Proven ability to lead and motivate team members, focusing on collaborative efforts to deliver quality patient care.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation are required.
4. Strong organizational capabilities are necessary.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
6. Experience interacting with various organizational levels is essential.
7. Preferred experience in pediatric outpatient care.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications.
9. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as EPIC, is preferred.
Qualifications:
1. Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory. Candidates without a BSN must complete the degree within five years of employment.
2. Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
3. A valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio is required, with a Multistate License (MSL) necessary within a specified timeframe for relevant departments.
4. Minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
5. No supervisory experience is required.
