About the Role

The Champaign Urbana Public Health District is seeking a dedicated individual to assist with garden maintenance and planning, produce distribution, and promotion. As an affiliate, the district also functions as a produce donation site for Solidarity Gardens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with garden maintenance and planning, including weeding, planting, and harvesting
  • Help with produce distribution and promotion, including social media and signage
  • Support other food accessibility initiatives, such as CU Farm to School, the Free Friday Market, Summer Meals Program, Healthy Champaign County, and WIC
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Background in gardening, horticulture, nutrition, marketing, and/or public health
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and work outside in various weather conditions
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft 365 suite, Canva, and social media platforms
  • Speak Spanish and/or French
  • Possess active Food Handler's or Food Safety Manager certification
