About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Middle Market team at AXA XL Ltd. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in establishing new broker and client relationships, underwriting Middle Market products, and supporting the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and market new products to meet the needs of our Middle Market clients
  • Underwrite new and renewal business, achieving profitable premium and rate goals while working with actuarial and claims teams
  • Maintain and service broker relationships within our distribution model, coordinating with brokers to determine their marketing and education needs
  • Interact directly with insureds, brokers, and producers to service accounts and brokers
  • Collaborate with underwriters, underwriting assistants, and management teams to achieve business objectives
  • Ensure high-quality service standards and compliance with internal audit guidelines
  • Represent the company and our agents at internal and external events
  • Meet with brokers to set annual targets, issue monthly status reports, and monitor P&L against plan
  • Take initiative to support broker and market interactions that drive growth, meeting with customers and prospects to develop relationships and deliver Middle Market education
Requirements
  • Outstanding knowledge of the US insurance industry and in-depth technical knowledge of PE insurance product offerings
  • Extensive Middle Market insurance experience, including underwriting, claims, or insurance-related business development experience
  • Ability to build and maintain robust insured and broker contacts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong customer service focus
  • Collaborative team player with creative problem-solving skills
