Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the PreOp PACU department at Surgery Care Affiliates. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition from the preoperative to the postoperative phase.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and Evaluate Patients: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' preoperative and postoperative status, including their cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic stability.
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Create individualized perianesthesia plans of care, taking into account patients' medical histories, current conditions, and treatment goals.
  • Administer Medications and Interventions: Safely and correctly administer medications, perform interventions to maintain wound and tissue perfusion, and ensure patients' genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems are functioning within normal parameters.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate patients' current status throughout the perianesthesia continuum of care, providing accurate and timely information to healthcare teams and patients' families.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document Patient Care: Accurately and thoroughly document patients' care, including their medical histories, treatment plans, and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: One year of experience in preoperative or PACU nursing required.
  • Certifications: Current state licensure to practice nursing, Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (if applicable).
