Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Peraton, a leading provider of mission capability integration and enterprise IT solutions. The successful candidate will provide technical support for the manufacture, test, integration, and field operations of NASA Balloon missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in the use of electrical circuits, assemblies, and devices for various applications, including balloon, flight hardware, ground hardware, test equipment, and facility modifications.
  • Perform complex activities in the use of electrical devices, including design, fabrication, testing, verification, and integration of electrical systems.
  • Plan the manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical apparatus, working directly with engineers in other disciplines to augment production size and value.
  • Act as an internal consultant, providing technical guidance on complex projects, and design electrical systems and circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, provide assistance with oversight of inspection/maintenance programs, and assess technical specifications to issue procurement requests.
  • Prepare design documentation, including technical text, illustrations, tables, and schematics, and draw up plans and specifications for projects using computer-assisted engineering and design software.
  • Estimate material, construction, and labor costs with project timescales, test installations/systems, and analyze data observing all applicable electrical/construction safety regulations.
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with two or more years of experience.
  • Experience in design and manufacture of Balloon flight hardware.
  • Experience electrically troubleshooting electrical components and test equipment.
  • Experience in testing and qualifying hardware for flight, including operating environmental test chambers.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in Electrical engineering, especially in flight or balloon hardware, ground support equipment, or electrical construction.
  • ISO J-STD- 001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
  • ISO/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.
