Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

A skilled Nursing Facility in Burlington, NJ is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join their team.

Job Summary:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include attending and contributing to patient care conferences, staffing meetings, and other required meetings. You will also be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adherence to an established plan of care, and timely documentation of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and contribute to patient care conferences, staffing meetings, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.
  • Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
  • Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  • Instructs patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
  • Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
  • Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
  • Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to: airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities, and organizes and facilitates treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Current NJ State Physical Therapist Assistant License.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a short-term and/or Long-term rehab.
  • Must have 1 year experience in SNF.
  • Solid knowledge of healthcare industry and related guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment, and impact on regulation for the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Experience in strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
