Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) at Stony Brook Medicine. As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
- Coordinate care activities with other healthcare disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
- Administer medications and provide direct patient care as needed.
- Practice infection control and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
- One year of post-licensure acute care nursing experience (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of experience).
- Current PACU/ICU experience preferred. BLS ACLS PALS Certification in professional specialty preferred.
This position may involve exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids, and other unpleasant elements. You may be required to handle unpredictable, emergency, and crisis situations. Irregular hours and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries may also be expected.
