Job Overview

Position Summary

The Irrigation Tech II will support the Irrigation Technician I in the management and upkeep of the irrigation system for the golf course. This role includes assisting with inventory management and ensuring the pump station remains clean and functional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Irrigation Technician I to address the irrigation requirements of the golf course.
  • Maintains all irrigation components, including sprinkler heads, quick couplers, and valve boxes, ensuring they are accessible for maintenance.
  • Familiarizes with as-built documentation and updates any modifications to current system records.
  • Identifies areas of turf that may need additional watering due to dryness.
  • Installs new irrigation lines and enhances existing systems as needed.
  • May participate in general golf course maintenance tasks such as mowing, watering, applying chemicals and fertilizers, aeration, and course setup.
  • Assists the Golf Course Manager and Assistant Superintendents in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Follows company safety protocols and guidelines diligently.
  • Performs other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid US driver's license is necessary.
  • Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to understand written instructions are essential.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours throughout the year is required.
