Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Materials Laboratory Technician to join our team at METCUT RESEARCH ASSOC. As a key member of our research staff, you will perform materials testing and evaluation to support lab operations.

You will assist senior engineers in conducting chemical and failure analysis of metallurgical samples using microscopes. Your duties will include testing metal samples to determine their physical properties, preparing specimens by grinding, polishing, and etching, and calibrating standardized material/metallographic testing stations.

Additionally, you will assist and manage projects related to materials evaluation, perform test data processing using MS Word and MS Excel, and calculate, record, and verify metallographic standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-5 years' experience in materials/metallography laboratory or engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to understand topics related to metallography, thermal spray coating, materials science, hardness, microstructure
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
