Family Services Casework Counselor Senior: Virginia Correctional Center For Women

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Casework Counselor to join our team at the Virginia Correctional Center For Women. As a Senior Casework Counselor, you will provide functional program support to the Family Services Coordinator and oversee successful initiatives, including the Family Reunification House and Prison Nursery programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide oversight to successful initiatives, including the Family Reunification House and Prison Nursery programs.
- Provide functional program support to the Family Services Coordinator.
- Responsible for adherence and support of policy and procedural development, executing and enforcing program protocols, and general oversight of daily program activities.
- Support with the development, implementation, and reporting of programs, services, policies, training, and programs.
- Ensure quality evidence-based programs and services are offered to meet individual inmate treatment needs.
- Work directly with inmates and their families to promote positive relationships with child(ren) and families.
- Establish professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to support inmates and their successful reentry.
- Promote the development of self and staff through identified training opportunities and various networking opportunities.
- Extensive understanding and experience using evidence-based cognitive behavioral, social learning, cognitive restructuring, and/or other behavioral change approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to complete reports, develop policies and procedures, and conduct research on relevant best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and written and develop partnerships with diverse community stakeholders.
- Experience in counseling and facilitating rehabilitative programs.
- Working knowledge of family social services, available benefits, and programs in the community.
- Knowledge of implementation science.
- Skilled in effectively presenting and communicating to diverse audiences.
- Working knowledge of gender-responsive and trauma-informed care practices.
- Skilled in project management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Coursework in psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, and/or related human services field.
- Professional certification in a relevant family counseling discipline or human services.
