POSITION SUMMARY
A Food Service Associate is tasked with delivering prompt, precise, and nutritious meal service to patients while ensuring sanitary food handling practices.

This role involves assembling meals as part of the trayline team, delivering food carts to designated areas within the hospital, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of dietary restrictions across all major patient diet categories. Additionally, the associate will learn and assist with various responsibilities typically assigned to Utility Technicians.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience in food service (healthcare or otherwise) or possess equivalent experience in task-oriented and time-sensitive roles.

Knowledge:
A working knowledge of proper food handling techniques and personal hygiene is essential. Candidates should demonstrate prior knowledge of standard healthcare dietary categories and restrictions or successfully complete and demonstrate competency in the BMH Dietary Manual within one month of employment.
Skills:
Proficiency in sanitary food handling is required. Candidates must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective time management abilities upon hire.

Abilities:
The ability to learn and retain information regarding special and modified diets for patients is crucial. Candidates should work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
