Occupational Therapist: Vision Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with various physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and assess patients with physical, educational, or psychosocial disabilities to develop effective treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
- Document patient progress and provide education to patients and their families, adhering to division protocols.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), volunteers, or students as required by OT regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Experience in vision therapy is preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels within an organization.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
- Certification: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification and current Ohio state licensure are required.
- Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None required.
