Job Title: Land Agent

We are seeking a skilled Land Agent to join our team at Atwell, LLC. This 1099 independent contractor position offers the opportunity to travel throughout the state of Illinois, connect with local landowners, and play a key role in securing land for important projects.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Traveling extensively (90%+) to project sites across the US, staying for multiple weeks at a time when necessary.
  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with landowners, ensuring they're well-informed and involved throughout the process.
  • Negotiating and executing options, leases, and/or easement agreements with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Developing and implementing right-of-way strategies with minimal supervision.
  • Providing regular updates on project progress to the Land Solutions Manager.
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry, client goals, and relevant legal and regulatory aspects.
  • Utilizing Atwell's tools and technology to manage projects and ensure smooth communication.
  • Performing research, qualifying parcel ownership, and overcoming landowner objections effectively.
  • Ensuring all agreements are executed flawlessly with accurate documentation.
  • Maintaining clear and proactive communication with the Atwell team.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An active LLC as an independent contractor.
  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land acquisition for renewable energy projects, or related fields like residential, commercial, telecommunications, or oil & gas.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in overcoming objections and navigating complex situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and remote locations.
