Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enhance our cloud security framework, promoting cyber resilience and supporting zero trust strategies.
  • Possess knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance as it pertains to cloud engineering.
  • Collaborate with the infrastructure team to bolster the reliability and security of our cloud systems.
  • Automate security measures to mitigate threats, vulnerabilities, and risks effectively.
  • Implement and uphold the AWS well-architected framework.
  • Address remote access issues in a remote-first work environment.
  • Engage with various teams to resolve security challenges in the cloud.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and a proven history of professional growth.
  • Familiarity with established security frameworks and privacy regulations (NIST CSF, FFIEC, SOX, SOC2, GLBA, ISO27018, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, demonstrating composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Fundamental understanding of security best practices, troubleshooting, attack vectors, and customer support.
  • AWS certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools is advantageous.

Compensation: Mercury offers a competitive total rewards package, including base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits. The salary ranges for this position are:

  • US employees: $160,400 - $188,700
  • Canadian employees: CAD $146,000 - $171,100
