Position Overview:
The Director of the Military Resource Center plays a pivotal role in leading the mission and comprehensive administration of the center dedicated to supporting military-affiliated students. This position is instrumental in cultivating an inclusive and innovative environment that enhances the educational experience for veterans and military-connected individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development, execution, and assessment of all services and programs offered by the Military Resource Center.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise work-study students who are veterans or military-affiliated.
  • Manage the budget and resources of the center effectively.
  • Provide direct services, advocacy, and support for veterans and military-affiliated students.
  • Engage in policy formulation and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with faculty and various stakeholders to enhance support for military students.
  • Conduct community outreach and educational initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven knowledge and experience in working with military resources and benefits.
  • Strong abilities in project planning, program management, and fiscal oversight.
  • Experience in hiring, training, and supervising staff, including military-affiliated and veteran personnel.
  • Ability to establish positive advisory relationships with student veterans and military dependents.
  • Skill in fostering collaborative partnerships across an organization.
  • Competence in working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and adaptability to various software systems.
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend commitments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a military or veteran resource center.
  • Direct involvement with a military resource center in a higher education setting.
