Position Overview:
The GeorgiaGov is seeking a dedicated Forensic Psychologist (Outpatient) to provide essential mental health evaluations in various regions, including urban and rural areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive forensic mental health assessments
- Draft detailed reports and deliver expert testimony in legal settings
- Gather and interpret relevant data
- Oversee and execute related psychological tasks as needed
- Travel throughout the state for professional duties
- Achieve Competency to Stand Trial Certification within the first year of employment
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited institution
- Valid license to practice psychology in Georgia
- At least one year of experience in a similar role
- Proficient in conducting assessments and report generation
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in an inpatient psychological setting
- Completion of a predoctoral internship or postdoctoral fellowship in criminal forensic psychology
- Five years of post-licensure experience with competency evaluations
- Experience providing testimony in criminal forensic mental health cases
- Knowledge of violence risk assessments
- Experience in a supervisory capacity within psychology
Employment Requirements:
To ensure workplace safety, certain positions may necessitate evaluations, vaccinations, and current professional licenses to practice in Georgia.
