Job Summary

The MDS Coordinator position at Cantex Continuing Care Network is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement of Medicare and Medicaid patients through the Patient Assessment Instrument (RAI) process. This role requires strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to manage quality patient care and maintain compliance with federal and state standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with Medicaid and Medicare rules, regulations, and guidelines
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to ensure accurate reimbursement
  • Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper reimbursement and care delivery
  • Audit clinical records to ensure accurate documentation
  • Train staff on documentation guidelines and best practices
Requirements
  • Current, valid Texas nursing license (RN, LVN)
  • At least 2 years of LTC experience preferred
  • Acknowledgement of Completion Certificate through the HHSC RUG Online Training for Nursing Facilities
  • AANAC RAI Certification within 1 year of employment
